Today Violet had an accident. While coming down the stairs as she neared the bottom, and was beyond what I thought of as the danger zone, she slipped and fell. At first we didn’t think it was serious, but it soon became clear that it was something more serious. So we packed the kids into the car, dropped Jacob off at his Nana and Papa’s House and headed to the ER.
The ER at St. Josephs was busy when we got there and so we settled down for what we’d know would be a long wait. Through all of it Violet was doing really great with the pain she must have been in. After she had some Advil she brightened up and started chatting up a storm. She even tried to sing a lullaby to a baby who was crying in the ER.
After 3 hours and some lost paper work we were standing in front of a computer screen looking at Violets X-Ray with a clear break in her collar-bone. There isn’t much we can do but try to make her comfortable and wait for it to heal. We’ll find out more tomorrow at the Fracture Clinic, till then we’ll do what we can.
I hope she doesn’t take after her auntie Rose regarding broken bones in childhood. I hear tell Manna Melissa had her share of broken bones too.

She is just like her mommy I always tell Melissa she reminds me so much of her and now Violet's first broken bone is exactly like what her mom's was.I think Melissa was 3 1/2 – 4 when she did the exact same thing as Violet fell down the stairs in the house and broke her collar bone.
