Last night I tried my first batch of cold brewed coffee. It turned out pretty good, though having a cold cup of coffee in the morning seemed strange. My only complaint with it was it didn’t seem as strong as I expected. So I setup a second batch with a higher ratio of coffee to water and decided to leave it longer. I’ll see in the morning how it turns out.
I sometimes cold brew coffee overnight in the summer. I would do it more often if we didn’t typically brew a pot of hot coffee to share. Also: TGISW doesn’t like cold coffee.
One nice thing about cold brewed coffee is it never gets bitter, because the bitterness requires heat to be leached out of the beans.
